Getting started
How do I connect my store?
Shopify uses an Admin API access token you generate in your own Shopify admin under Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps, with the read_orders scope. WooCommerce uses a REST API consumer key and secret from WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API, set to Read permission. Packwide walks you through both.
What if I do not have an online store?
Choose manual logging. You record what you use at the packing bench and the forecast works from that instead. Market stalls and physical shops use this.
Is Etsy supported?
Not yet. Etsy requires an approved developer app, which Packwide does not have at this stage. Etsy sellers can use manual logging in the meantime.
What does Packwide read from my store?
Order counts and dates, and nothing else. It does not read customer details and never writes anything back to your shop. Credentials are encrypted before they are stored.
Ordering and delivery
How does Packwide decide when to order?
It compares how much packaging you have left against how fast you are getting through it and how long your manufacturer takes to deliver. When stock drops low enough that an order must go out to arrive in time, it is generated.
Can I stop an order?
You can stop tracking an item at any time, which prevents new orders being raised for it. Orders already in flight are unaffected, and your usage history is kept.
Who delivers my packaging?
The manufacturer, directly to your address. Packwide holds no stock and never handles the goods.
Why do I have to confirm a delivery?
Because Packwide has no warehouse to check against, your confirmation is what updates your stock record and keeps the next forecast accurate. The manufacturer confirms their side separately.
What happens if the two confirmations disagree?
The order is flagged for review and both sides see an under-review status. Neither figure is accepted automatically, and your stock is not changed until a person has looked at it.
Pricing and billing
What am I charged for?
£50 a month for each connected store if you are a business, or a flat £100 a month if you are a manufacturer. Both exclude VAT. Packaging is paid separately, directly to the manufacturer, and the two are never combined. See pricing.
Does Packwide take a cut of packaging?
No markup and no commission. The price a manufacturer lists is the price you pay them.
For manufacturers
How do I join?
Apply through the manufacturer application. Accounts are reviewed before listings go live. Once approved you list products yourself and set your own prices.
How do I get paid?
You invoice the business directly at your wholesale price. That payment does not pass through Packwide.
